ONE // On Wednesday morning I had the opportunity to go to the tapings of two morning shows for my internship (right images). It was so cool to see behind the scenes of the producers, anchors, switching of segments and interview of artists that I reached out to. It made waking up at 4:30am worth it. In between the shows I went to get breakfast at Publik Coffee Roasters on West Temple and their avocado toast is so good.
TWO // One of my favorite bloggers Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls wrote a post about how her and her boyfriend (now husband) built their company Kiel James Patrick from the ground. Their American dream come to life is inspiring.
THREE // I watched What the Health the other night and I have two words: eye opening. The two things that shocked me the most are that eating processed meats is just as unhealthy as smoking cigarettes, they are both Category 1 Carcinogens. The other thing that shocked me was that the food industry funds organizations like Susan G. Komen and American Diabetes Association, despite studies that have proven the eating dairy and processed meat is linked to cancer and diabetes. Since reading Crazy Sexy Diet in high school I have believed that diet absolutely correlates to everything in our bodies.
FOUR // The PR firm I'm interning at represents the Kimball Arts Center who had their 48th Annual Park City Kimball Art Festival this past weekend. It was a weekend full of press and learning opportunities. Friday morning I had another 4:30am wake up call to help produce the live Fox 13 Big Budha Show (left images). There were 8 segments about the Arts Fest and its was amazing being able to see this entire process start to finish. Some of the first few weeks of my internship we got a schedule of the Big Budha Show, then as time went on I reached out to participating artists to see if they were interested in the press opportunity, and then I got to meet the artists the morning of the show and prep them for their segment.
FRIDAY // Saturday morning as part of the Kimball Arts Festival, Lululemon put on Yoga Fest. It was a yoga class held on the Park City Town Lift Bridge. It was such unique experience to take a yoga class as the sun was rising on such an iconic location in Park City and the perfect way to start another busy arts festival day. Unfortunately later in the day I had a crash course in crisis management from a PR stand point. As much as you can learn in a classroom I have learned so much more through my internship this summer and am so sad that I am in my last week here.
