Way back in November, my study abroad friends and I went for a quick weekend in Brussels Belgium. We flew out early Saturday morning and made it into the city center just in time for an early lunch. After lunch, the girls went to a museum just outside the city and I met up with one of my sorority sisters who was studying abroad in Brussels, Kathleen. She had a friend from home visiting for the week, so all three of us took the subway out to the Atomium to see Brussels from above.
I love getting to see all the cities we travel to from above. After the Atomium, we went over to the big shopping street and did a little shopping. Kathleen and I both found the softest sweaters at Zara that were on sale, so we couldn't pass them up. After shopping we said goodbye and I met back up with the girls in the Grand Place for dinner. The Grand Place was gorgeous at night all lit up. The front of the buildings are covered in gold and there are tons of little statues all across the tops of the buildings.
The next morning we got up bring and early and headed back over to the Grand Place for a free walking tour. We had the absolute best tour guide who took us all over the city to see the main sights and the history of Brussels. We ended our tour with Belgian Frites with Andalouse sauce on top, which were to die for.
