After years of traveling and finally realizing that my chronic overpacking was an issue, I have finally put together my version of the perfect carry-on!
Good Reading Material
Magazines // My favorite part of traveling is getting to stock up on the latest issues of my favorite magazines. Some of my favorites are Vogue, Marie Claire and Harpers Bazar.
Books // Sometimes I can find it hard to read on airplanes because of everything going on around my so I usually stick to smaller books. My all-time favorite plane/beach/anytime books are White Girl Problems and Psychos by Babe Walker, they are absolutely hilarious and entertaining. Some of my other recent favorite plane reads are Dirty Rush and Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
Powder // After I get off my flight if I'm meeting up people or going straight to a dinner I like to touch up my makeup. I love this powder so much, I use it every day to set my makeup and for touch ups!
Brush // This is the best powder brush I have ever used and I love that while the handle is smaller so it will fit in a travel sized makeup bag, but the brush head is the perfect size.
Blush // I feel like I can look a little drained after a long flight so its always nice to add a little color back into my face.
Facial Spray // After I blot and powder I love to use this spray! It revives my makeup as well as help to moisturize my skin after the damage done from the recycled air on the plane and get rid of the powdery look. I will also use it during the flight if its longer.
Mascara // Adding a little more mascara can make the biggest difference anytime of day for a little pick me up, so its perfect post flight.
LipStick // Like the blush, I like to add a little color back into my face after a long flight. I love the color Dolce Vita!
Perfume // I love to carry a rollerball perfume with me for after the flight, because who wants to go to dinner smelling like an airplane?
Hand Cream // Hand cream in necessary to make sure my hands don't dry out from the recycled air and constant hand sanitizer use. The Nivea cream is really moisturize, but its a little to thick, L'Occitane makes my favorite hand creams.
Phone // This seems like a no-brianer but last time I traveled with my mom she left her phone on the kitchen counter charging, so always double check that you have your phone before you leave the house.
Laptop // I love to travel with my laptop versus an iPad because if I need to I can get work done or enjoy a movie on a larger screen.
Chargers // The amount of times I have left without my charges is one too many, so now I make sure to pack them the night before so they can't be forgotten.
Camera // I always travel with my camera in my carry on because I don't want risk loosing it with my luggage or damaging it, its also nice to have it in reach incase I want to snap a quick picture!
Earbuds // I love these earbuds!! They block so much outside noise and have lasted me so long!
Other Little Extras
Swell Water Bottle // I love to stay hydrated and it is super important to do so while traveling, but water at the airport is so over priced! So I fill my bottle up after I get through security and I have cold water all day!
Larabar // I recently tried these and now I'm obsessed! Healthy on-the-go snacks are so hard to find, but these have just made my life so much easier! I can grab on on my way out the door or throw it in my bag for later and the best part is my favorite flavor (chocolate chip cookie dough) only has 4 ingredients!
Glasses // I like to travel with my glasses so much better than contacts because contacts are never very comfortable on planes due to the dry air. I also pack my sunglasses in my carry on so they don't brake in my luggage.
As I write this I am at the airport on my way up to New York for the weekend! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? What do you like to carry in your carry-on?
